What causes throbbing pain in the back of your head?

Every once in a while i get this throbbing pain in the back of my head like someone is hitting me on the head with a hammer. It’s not your typical headache, this is worse. What would this be and what causes it? sounds like a migrain headache. lots of causes. look it up on the web . . . check with your doctor
